THEPROJECT
A customer requested that we create a compact and efficient shoe storage unit which would organise and hide her large collection of shoes
THEMATERIALS
It was requested that this cabinet be made from solid pine wood so it would match the rest of the furniture in her house. Pine is often seen as an inferior building material, but when treated in the right way; it can be a thing of beauty.
THEPROCESS
We used wooden doweling to bring all the elements together. This method is not only strong but also ensures that there are no metal screws, nails or joiners in the cabinet. This is something that is a blessing to carpenters when they are looking to upcycle furniture in the future!
THEFINISH
The shoe cabinet was finished to match Stocai Stool, having the top finished in natural teak oil and the bottom sprayed with a high quality white paint.
